| Black Tahitian pearls are also cultured South Sea pearls, primarily from the French Polynesian Islands. The mollusc is the Pinctada Margaretifera or black lipped oyster. The color produced is a natural color ranging from light silver gray to dark black. Sizes range from 8mm to 16mm with anything over 14mm to be considered very large. |  |
